Its good news for all the jailbreaking aspirants as the famous iOS hacker behind the 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak, Pod2g tweeted that he now has his iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak.
We all know that P0d2g listed earlier that he now has all the exploits to manage to do the untethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1 and also stated that it would be very difficult in future to jailbreak the next upcoming iOS, probably iOS6, as Apple is acting very strictly in this matter and making sure that no loopholes are left open. So he even conducted a poll on his blog as to whether the exploits should be preserved for use in iOS6 which is going to be out soon or give them out in the iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak. These are the poll results so far:
The kernel exploit which is being used to do the jailbreak came from another new iOS hacker named Nicolas Haunold, Twitter handle – @Westbaer. Also Joshua Hill aka p0sixninja tweeted that they had to use a total of 7 exploits to overcome 5 technical and 2 legal hurdles for the release. This is nice to see that with the increasing complexity in the jailbreaking situation, new people are stepping forward to help out in the matter. Now, we can soon expect the jailbreak to be out in the latest Redsnow version as all the hurdles seems to have been sorted out. Also, we have to wait for a word for the untethered jailbreak on A5 devices.
