With Find my iPhone you can pin point the exact location of your device if it has data connection. You can also send message and sound alerts through find my iPhone. To enable / Activate Find My iPhone
Just go to Settings
Tap iCloud
Scroll to the bottom and activate Find My iPhone.
In case if you lost your device, Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID to find your device
